Super simple, one step media conversion

ArcSoft MediaConverter is an all-in-one conversion tool for audio and video files.

ArcSoft MediaConverter aims to be really easy to use! Simply drag the file you want into the main interface, pick your device and hit Start. There are lots of device profiles to choose, from iPods to YouTube and PSP to the Wii.

You can also choose format profiles, like MP3, AAC and so on. Every ArcSoft MediaConverter profile can be set to high quality or normal, depending on how much space you want your converted files to take up.

ArcSoft MediaConverter is ideal for people who don't want to worry about formats and so on, as it accepts most popular formats and doesn't require any technical knowledge at all.

For others, however, ArcSoft MediaConverter may be annoying - not being able to properly set up bitrates and so on for conversions isn't good. The MP3 'high quality' setting is only 256 Kbps, which is lower than the current web-standard of 320 Kbps for good quality MP3s, for example.

ArcSoft MediaConverter is a simple way to convert pretty much any video or audio file to fit a huge variety of digital devices.

Arcsoft - not worth it. The codecs mess with your system. Total junk. Don't go near this unless you want real problems with your XP or Vista system.

Avoid at all cost - even free. MediaConverter 2.5 does not function.MC 2.5 is simply a marketing gimmick to get consumers to purchase the retail version of MC 3. MC 2.5 came bundled with my Philips GoGear after reading several forums in the ArcSoft website it was clear the staff was attempting to peddle MC 3 to all who got MC 2.5 bundled with their product. Bastards. Money makes the world turn? Naw. Don't believe that Pros: NONE Cons: Everything

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.

Flag any particular issues you may encounter and Softonic will address those concerns as soon as possible.
